The Freedmen Agenda League of Michigan was founded in the State of Michigan in 2020 by descendants of the victims of American Chattel Slavery and Jim Crow in an effort to secure justice and redress. Our vision is to realize an America where real socio-economic justice and equity have been achieved for American Freedmen. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Advocacy for American Freedmen as the specific identity for those who are direct lineal descendants of persons who were formerly enslaved.
Delineation of American Freedmen from the Black or African American racial category in government reporting and other statistical data.
Providing education that reparations is the only solution to economic and social repair for American Freedmen.
Advocacy of a proper American Freedmen agenda both in Michigan and on a federal level including reparations as the inescapable heartbeat.
